In 1992, 30 years ago, Albertville hosted the Winter Olympics. Neighbouring Méribel joined in the adventure by staging the women’s downhill on its ski slopes and all the ice hockey events at its ice rink. You can currently revisit Albertville ‘92 during your break at Le Tremplin by visiting three commemorative exhibitions!

Méribel and the 30th anniversary of the 1992 Winter Olympics

Since the beginning of the year, inspired by this year’s Winter Olympics in Beijing, Méribel has been reliving its own Winter Olympics adventure: Albertville ‘92. If you stayed at the Hotel le Tremplin during February of that year, you would have been swept up in the excitement. But if you missed out, you can now relive those great moments of sporting achievement by visiting an exhibition titled 30th Anniversary of the 1992 Winter Olympics. It runs until August 30th, 2022, at three sites: the Méribel Centre Tourist Office, the Mottaret Tourist Office, and the Olympic Park.

Relive the excitement of Albertville ‘92

A carefully designed scenography takes you on a journey to the heart of Olympic sporting achievement. The Maison des Jeux Olympiques in Albertville and the resort of Méribel have loaned artifacts and documents to illustrate this great event in sporting history. Photos, medals, and explanatory panels take you back to that time and serve as a reminder of great champions who covered themselves in glory, including the skiers Edgar Grospiron, Fabrice Guy and Franck Piccard and the biathlete Corinne Niogret! This three-part exhibition continues until the end of the summer season. You can also take the opportunity to discover the pleasures of spring skiing in our beautiful resort.

Discover the resort which was at the centre of the sporting world during the 1992 Winter Olympic fortnight, and which knows so well how to combine hospitality, sporting performance and the wonders of nature... Le Tremplin awaits you!
